Things to See: Temples

Buddhist temples make their presence known throughout the city of Chiang Mai by poking their golden spires out above the trees and houses. It's not hard to find these temples here, sometimes you'll find many on a single street.

The official religion of Thailand may be Buddhism, but other people are free to practice their own beliefs. Because of this, you'll also find Hindu temples, Mosques, and Christian churches. Most of these places allow tourists to come in, but they do kindly request for respect in terms of clothing and behavior.
